While we working on what became Trainfare Home, Sonya and I met with Bob Hurwitz, the president of our label, Nonesuch, and he asked us how the new songs were coming - were they similar to the songs on the first album? While my brain was churning out an answer encompassing all the differences (I'm so close to it all, they seem glaring), Sonya had the presence of mind (considering, I suppose, that, after all, Bob had put out the first album because he liked the material) to answer simply, "Yes." “Yes and no” is the less politic, but more accurate response, I believe. |
